Finally got my hands on another stainless mod7 7-08.It had the cheapo synthetic stock on it so I run across this one on EBay.This stock is actually a factory model 7 stock that Remington didn't use on many guns. They used it on the Model7 Whitetail Classic edition guns.Just wanted to show it off. Also I'm still torn between putting a stainless scope on it or a regular matte black. What's yalls opinions?

Good looking gun in a great caliber. I always put black scopes on my stainless rifles in case I ever want to switch one to a blued gun.

The black matte finish seems to me to hold up better also than the silver finish.

That's a Purdy gun! I was leaning black scope before the pics loaded up, but that thing would be even sharper with a stainless scope and bases. thumbup

I like a silver scope on my stainless rifles. I also like a one piece base. I'm running a black matte scope on my M7 7SAUM to get me through the season. I'll be changing it out as soon as funds allow. Don't let anyone tell you a 50mm won't work, either. Mine is working out great.

Congrats on the purchase. Very nice stock.

S&K makes a nice real stainless( not silver) mounting system; but not cheap.

Mine came with a black Leupold base and rings. I'll swap it out with silver Leupold rings and bases. I've never had any issues with Leupold rings and bases.

I've only got one stainless gun with a stainless colored scope and after getting some age on the gun, the scope doesn't match the barrel so I think I'd go black matte scope.

Anyone want to start an over/under bet on how long it is before this gun's in the classifieds? laugh

Yea I know the silver scopes tend to age quicker but I've bout settled on all silver.I just think it'll look better..As far as it ending up in the classifieds ain't happening. This ones found its forever home..... Well....unless someone wants it real bad........or....if someone posts something for trade I really want then it might leave but I doubt it.

Stainless rings with a stainless Leupy VX3 2.5-8x36 or a stainless Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 (if you can find a nice used one).

Over/under set at 8 months, place your bets. LOL

My silver Leupold still looks like my stainless M700. I bought them new in the mid 90's. Maybe I haven't owned them long enough to turn?

You like the small objective better? I was thinking of putting a 40mm on my M7, but didn't like the way it looked when I looked through it.

I do on more compact rifles like that one.
