Here's mine he's part hound and lab, he'd rather them be alive when he finds them. He won't bark on a dead deer but he'll continue to come back to you and you have to tell him to "Get that deer" and he'll lead you to him. This dog has an crazy infatuation with deer, he looks for them going down the road and will knock your TV over if one's on it. I do charge but that's to keep from getting calls to look for samll bucks and doesand leaves me some hunting time as well. If it's a kid I usaully don't charge. With gas prices and the price of a GPS tracking unit it's getting harder to go for free.
Reefd, I had a yellow lab once that did exactly as you described. He found a lot of deer and preferred them to be alive when he found them. He would go absolutely crazy if he got one bayed up.
