Any of you guys who fish on the Coosa, Warrior or Alabama rivers ...
-- What is the water level?
-- Any significant problems due to the drought?
-- Seeing anything weird or different with fishing tactics due to the drought?

Buddy is on Neeley right now. It's down 1ft and the fishing is tough. Water temps in Cole Creek are 87. Hello! I said 87 degrees F......  Logan Martin is near winter pool. We fished the Warrior last month a did pretty good on 12" fish. I've actually heard some decent reports from there lately. Friend of mine won a little buddy tourney with 12 lbs last week.

If you like flipping a jig the Warrior river is the place to be! Fished a little braggin rights tourny Sunday and came in third with 17lb.4oz. 21lb.9oz. won it. Top six were all flippin jigs.

The Alabama is bad low. There are islands at Millers Ferry that I have never seen before. The lower pool at Claiborne is 6.2'. Usual summer reading is 10'-12'.

Are yall in the grass or on main river wood? The Warrior has been making some impressive winning weights this year. It looks to be on the rebound.

Fished Jordan on Tuesday. Dodged thunderstorms. Tough fishing. Nothin to speak of. Fished the Alabama river on Wednesday, and after getting wet putting in the drain plug (totally different story) most fish were in 15-20 feet of water. Hard to find them, my pops caught some small bass on a mepps spinner and that is really what I wanted. him to have fun... that was the first time we have gone out on a boat together to fish, so it was kinda special to me. Just spending time with him.
water temp at Jordan was 79.1 and the river at Montgomery was 79.8.... so it's gonna be a lng hot summer. Did I mention that only one ramp at Cooters pond was usable? Yep the far ramp is the only one that is usable. The other one you can see the end of it. Water down about 3 feet and dropping as we speak......

fished mitchell this morning (thursday) absolutely hammered em. fished from 5:30 to 8:45 caught 12. 11 spots, 1 largemouth. caught first two on top water. next on a jig, then a crankbait. the rest came off of a shaky head. all spots were 2-3lbs. best day i've had in a long time.

the locust fork of the warrior up near b'port is normal level. until three days ago, could catch all the yearling bass - and the occasional buster - i wanted on sliders and 4-inch zoom lizards crept on the bottom of points and weeds. i hear bigger bass are falling to bubblegum worms fished weightless and crazy. gonna have to force myself to buy pink ... yuck.
i hear bream are good on crickets, but i don't fish for 'em. cats are suspeended off structure and in the deep bends. they'll still go for shad if shad can be found.
water temp off the stern early is 80. mid-afternoon 86-87. after a good shower, temp drops to 78 for 12 hours or so.

As of Tuesday morning, they have dropped Jordan more than a foot compared to Sat. I guess that is due to the FLW being in Prattville on the Alabama. I fished the river this morning, caught 2 12" largeheads on a watermelon craw.. they jumped all over it.. Now if I can only find their daddies and mommies I would be having a great day.
