I think that doe killing statewide should be banned except for farmers to get permits for does due to crop damage. I hunted Sumpter county years ago. There was a tremendous amount of deer. We didn't kill does and there were plenty of deer every year. I never saw an unhealthy or skinny deer. This talk of needing to remove does is BS!
My personal opinion on crop damage tags is that the farmer does not have rights to the tags unless they are already allowing hunters the opportunity to assist in thinning the herd. A couple around hear won't lease or allow permit hunting yet obtains several dozen crop damage permits each year. That's BS.
Do you know if landowners have to report their kills or track them in anyway to know how many antlerless deer are being killed each year? Seems like this would be a good number to know as folks consider antlerless kill limits during deer season.
