Decided to sit a couple hours this morning in a shooting house on a hedgerow where I can see 500 yards in call directions, usually see piles of younger deer when I watch all that real estate. Saw one spike...at about 2 yards (came down the hedge row).

It's official this is hot as I've ever been hunting deer, only time hotter is hunting alligator in Selma in late summer. Should've brought cold Diet Miller's

Just got settled in a hardwood draw. Stand hasn't been sat in all year. It's too hot and too humid. If there wasn't the chance of some chasing I'd be watching football.

+1 for Chilton County. Sitting on edge of hardwoods by clover field. Sweatin ballz. Sounds like deer are moving for others. I hope they are in Clanton.

Ran wasps out of shooting house. Can hear a mouse gnawing under the floor. Watching a power line food plot and dripping sweat.
