The latest model runs not looking good for Wednesday afternoon/night. Temps in the low to mid 70's with dewpoints in the upper 60's. Most of the instability and shear, and greatest chance of a tornadoes, will be over the northern half of the state and especially Northwest Alabama. This is going to be a setup for individual storm cells, rather than a squall line, and the significant tornado parameters from the 6pm NAM model for Wednesday are rather strong.

Keep a weather radio handy if you're planning to be at a hunt camp somewhere with no TV service.

Now I agree with you! This setup isn't looking promising. I sense spann is getting antsy on this one too.

Reminded me of this scene from "We were Soldiers Once and Young" grin

Latest model runs are still showing a setup for supercell storms capable of producing tornadoes. Model parameters for the evening hours Wednesday aren't looking good.

There will, most likely, be some moisture to the south. Storms and convection to the south and along the Gulf coast, to block the inflow northward, is what's needed. As of now though, that doesn't look promising.

Everybody needs to be weather aware. But, I think a lot of this weather news is fear mongering and trying to get television ratings.

The weather channel maybe, but when the National Weather Service starts talking 2-3 days out, folks need to listen.

A lot of people said the same thing in April 2011, and then...

^^^This

I remember when JP Dice on Fox news told the audience that he had been in meteorology for 20+ years and he had never seen that kind of weather we were going to see and he, along with the NWS, were spot on.

Yeap JP Dice is calling Wednesday a weather awareness day. Never heard him do that. They have been talking about this setup for few days. Hope they are wrong. Everyone be safe.
