Even if you weigh the charges still using a press is much more efficient. However Rockhound's advice is solid and still a better option than roll crimps.

an 1.5oz charge of TSS in 20 would be 1.78" without fillers.
In 12ga you could do something like a wad CSD 7/8 and get about 1.9 oz of TSS.
A 1.5 oz charge of tss will take up less an inch of space. It's nothing like lead or steel
