I'm slowly ruining dad. We got in the blind about 30 minutes before daylight and he has been talking crap about me using a heater when it cold for awhile. About 7 he was asking where he could go get one of those heaters and what kind of ground blind is this lol

Congrats 257! That's a great buck! thumbup

And congrats to everyone else who's killed bucks this morning. thumbup

I bow hunted a spot this morning with CR Jr. but neither of us saw a thing. Got a 1pm weeding to attend (who schedules things like this during deer season?), then I'm back at 'em by 3pm at the latest! Thank God they're not Catholic! grin

I don't know about where ya'll were but I don't know if I've ever seen a morning as calm as it was today. We didn't even have enough breeze to move the leaves

Doubled up this morning. Had a group of 5 does cruise through. I shot the biggest and they went over a ridge about 30 minutes later they come running back being pushed by 4 bucks. This 9 pt was the best of the group.

The new Winchester Deer Season XP had complete pass thru on both. The buck was a quartering toward shot.

Congrats on the kills. I seen 13 total,12 doe and a spike. I checked my camera on the way out and of course two good 8 point crossed in front of it around 7:50am. I believe one of them was a shooter.

For the first time in two weeks or so I have Eli back in the stand with me. Hopefully the deer cooperate with us.

Well, the black cloud continues to follow me. I've been on a run of crappy luck here lately...I shot the buck and he ran across the field back toward where he came from. He was bulldozing with his head, both front legs, and chest all on the ground for the last 20 yds before he got to the woods. I just knew he'd be laying right inside the wood line, but no! We trailed good blood (what I consider good blood) for a mile and never did find him. We did find this spot where it looked like he'd bedded down.

For almost the whole mile, the blood trail would have a basketball-sized spot of blood about every 10 yds. It just pisses me off! I felt SO confident in my shot!
