I seen this thread on the GON webpage and thought it was a good idea? It would be nice if you have a tracking dog and don't mind using him for Al. Deer readers, then post you name, # along with the County you are located at, so if someone needs your service they could contact you? If you have a fee you want to charge and your requirements please post that also? This could be very useful to someone this up coming year.

Right breed and color. I've had several labs for retrieving, but never done any trailing work with one. I'm looking for a beagle puppy to train for trailing. I want one out of 13-15" stock. It will be an inside dog.

i got a 15" beagle. one of the best track dogs ive ever owned. blood trails good too!. blood trailed 3 bucks and 2 does last year. all were found. but i wont come trail a deer for just anybody because some people dislike a dog hunter like myself. until they make a poor shot on that big buck they've been hunting all season then all of a sudden they your best friend and need your trail dog... lol

Molly found one for my neighbour last season, that his son had shot, he went from a stubborn hard headed man to our good friend, so maybe he sees we ain't bad people and keep that attitude up.

I was in a dog hunting club for one year. I dog hunted with some buddys for a couple years after that, but wasn't in a club. I had good dogs, I was popular. haha We had 5000 acres leased, and we ran dogs on our 5000 acres, nobody elses. If a dog crossed the line, it was left to come out on it's own, but we did everything possible to keep that from happening. I would have stayed in the club but the folks in charge tried to keep some kind of drama going all the time.
I had 8 beagles that would push a deer just hard enough to keep them moving. There were 15 bucks killed in front of them the year I was in the dog club.
That's one reason I want another beagle.
It's the guys that lease 100 acres and dog hunt that give dog hunting a bad name.

Here's mine he's part hound and lab, he'd rather them be alive when he finds them. He won't bark on a dead deer but he'll continue to come back to you and you have to tell him to "Get that deer" and he'll lead you to him. This dog has an crazy infatuation with deer, he looks for them going down the road and will knock your TV over if one's on it. I do charge but that's to keep from getting calls to look for samll bucks and doesand leaves me some hunting time as well. If it's a kid I usaully don't charge. With gas prices and the price of a GPS tracking unit it's getting harder to go for free. 
So weird.

I can help with Clarke, Wilcox, and Marengo. I have two labs that have found several deer. I charge $20 upfront to cover gas and another $20 once the deer is found.

I'm in Dallas co. every wknd from bow season thru Jan. and sometimes during the week. The rest of the time I'm in southern Baldwin co. I frequent Lowndes co. as well.
So weird.

Reefd, I had a yellow lab once that did exactly as you described. He found a lot of deer and preferred them to be alive when he found them. He would go absolutely crazy if he got one bayed up.

my K-9 Taz with a big 225# buck she ran down and caught. The buck slung her 20 feet, she charged back in and grabbed his nose. I had to close to 20 feet to get in a finishing shot...  another find of hers. This buck was shot early am IN THE FOOT, by someone else. I put Taz on the track at 3pm, she tracked him 300 yards, jumped him, ran him another 200 yards and bayed him. We slipped into 60 er so yards and finished him..  she retired with me in 2005, now 14 years old. She does good to track her food bowl but she was a hellion in her youth..... troy
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....
