The guy has a 78% winning percentage. He brings in Top 10 talent to the program each and every year. You corndogs must not remember your history. LSU has historically been a lower tier SEC team in the all time rankings. Only until Saban arrived, and then Miles took over was LSU relevant on the national scene. You are about to get rid of probably one of the two best coaches your program has ever had because of one three loss season and a couple of losses in a row to Saban. Is he really in LSU's head that bad? Who are you guys going to hire that's going to beat an 80% winning percentage and consistently beat Saban and Alabama? Nobody.... that's who. Miles is a great coach and I guarantee you that if you fire him, you won't find a replacement as good as he is. LSU football will then be an irrelevant dumpster fire and we will all sit around and point and laugh. Right now LSU has respect for being one of the toughest teams in the SEC who can beat your tail if you don't show up and play your A game.

Les needs an offensive coordinator in a bad way. I agree that the odds of lsu getting anyone better than Les are extremely slim.

That's LSU's only problem. They just haven't had a great playmaking QB in several years. Les Miles is not the problem and LSU is about to put themselves right back into irrelevancy.

LSU had a grand total of FIVE 10 win seasons before Saban arrived in Baton Rouge. Saban produced two 10 win seasons.

As of last year, Les has been in Baton Rouge for 10 seasons. He has produced SEVEN 10 win seasons...or, the same number in 10 seasons as LSU has had in their entire existence.

And, they want to run the guy out of town.

Exactly. They are getting desperate because they aren't beating Saban regularly. Hell nobody is beating Saban regularly. Like I said, if they run Miles out of town as much as he's accomplished there, I hope they never win another game.

Has anyone who says Miles is a great coach watched the last 3 games? Total blowouts with no adjustments. Stupid penalties and the same mistakes over and over on both offense and defense. Players acting like they are lost out there. Yes, they have had great players recruited but have not developed them. With the new rules on defense which make it much easier to get a passing game established, he insists on the 3 yards and a cloud of dust power I offense. He won one national championship in 2007 and had a lot of luck to get that. He's a great man but an average coach. Saban is a great coach but an aggrevating human being. I'll take the great coach in this case.

LSU is all in on Jimbo right now. They are about to make him a very rich man.

I don't see Jimbo leaving FSU. He's about to be divorced and he'll want to be close to his kids. Plus, why leave that cupcake conference.

I agree he would be a fool to leave.

So Jimbo Fisher is your answer for Saban. LMAO

Jimbo would only be behind Petrino on the list of coaches I would never want coaching at the school I pull for. If Jimbo comes to the SEC he won't find many weeks that his team can slack off and get a W the way they can at FSU. If I were LSU I'd find Les a good offensive coordinator and beg Les to let him do his job.

Not comparing Jimbo to Saban just pointing out the differences between LSU current and previous coach. Who knows, Saban may want to come back to LSU or take the Texas job that's about to come open.

Regardless of what they do this has been the worst handled firing or non-firing by any school.

(though Tubberville's deal is close.)

If LSU fires Miles, please lord... please please please let them hire Jimbo Fisher.

Amen

If Les is in fact gone & Chip Kelley does flee the NFL, I wonder how he'd fare in the SEC?

Heard a good argument against Chip in the SEC West. He didn't do so well against them in the past. He might not want the headache of dealing with SEC West defenses week in and week out.

USC seems a much better fit, but you never know.

FROM flarduh insider( take it for what its worth)

Here is what I can say and feel very confident in doing so. Les Miles will be out of a job in less that a week (I think Sunday). To take it a step further I have a source that I trust implicitly, that tells me that not only have the LSU people squared enough money away to pay off Miles (15-16 million, I have no idea for how long), but the money is also in-hand to buy out Jimbo Fisher from his contract at FSU (5 million).

And another step is that Jimbo has agreed and that the LSU people are "VERY confident" in this happening.

Now, let me say this as well. I believe all of this, but the only thing I do not know is whether Fisher will actually follow through with it I do know that he is having divirce issues of which the rumors were hot well before the season that he was ready to get the heck out. He is also not due for a raise this year after wining 10 games. They have the Title IX stuff where nobody really knows what is going to happens and it won't likely follow him anywhere. And one thing that people forget is that an undefeated ACC Champion FSU who just won a national title the year before, almost got left out of the playoff picture a year ago.

Here is something else I can add as well. I know someone that is very good friends with Jimbo and not a Nile fan. I asked off the cuff if he was headed to LSU just days ago and he said '50/50'. I said "come on you can do better than that". His response was, "well he was going to take the Auburn job a couple of years ago and backed out". My response then was, "well he had Jameis then and doesn't now". He came back with "true".

Right now I believe this is going to happen and will all go down in less than a week. Those LSU folks don't mess around in recruiting and they aren't going to wait long.

How is all of that for some tidbits on a Friday morning?

If that's true, let's start a go fund me to buy out Malzahn and hire Les at AU. He's a heck of a coach IMO.
