I've been a big advocate of Les'. I think he's a good coach and an even better man. But truth be told, he has not competed with the upper echelon teams in the SEC since 2011. It's easy to beat the Southern's, McNeese, etc. The line is drawn when you suit up against the Bama's, Ark, A&M, Auburns of the world. I'm too lazy to look up his record against SEC teams with a winning record since 2011 but I'm sure it's not very good, and that's where a coach of a perennial contender should be judged.
Now the question...who does LSU look for? It's a slippery slope when you try to replace a very successful coach. I've seen too many times it not work out. Has to be a homerun lined up and ready to come take over. With that said, I imagine Les gets another year. This team is absolutely loaded with talent that will be upper classmen next year.
Ya'll are just overthinking it now

Miles has a lot in common with Ritch, he has a ton of talent & doesn't know how to handle it. That said I like Miles as a coach & would hate to see him leave.

That would be a stupid move. He's a good coach. Dangerous move getting rid of him and going with an unknown.

They are a good QB away from being undefeated. I think he is safe.

Les has never been a "x's and o's" type of coach. He brings other valuable abilities, but at the end of the day, his reluctance to adapt the offense will cause him to be fired. I'm not sold he'll be back next year.

He tries to run a pro-set but keeps recruiting these spread QB's. I agree that players going to the NFL hurt but he does a good job recruiting, other than QB.

The difference is Les struggles without a dominate QB. Look at what Saban has been able to do without a true talent at QB. Coker is serviceable, IMO. He isn't the world-beater that LSU needs to be dominant.

Les may be the worst qb recruiter and developer I've ever seen. The list of receivers he's had come through there is incredible. Just two years ago he had Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry and still never really developed a threatening passing game. Dupree and Dural this year are both studs too but he can't get the ball in their hands.
I think the game has changed from the 100% ground and pound power game that he used to compete in. He has failed to adapt and been left behind

With the QB situation down there, Dupree and Dural are like Solid Gold Doorknobs on a Porta-shitter.

Kirby and Saban are always the names dropped. Dabo is a newcomer, but if he goes anywhere, it will be Bama - or so I hope.

Les better adapt on offense or he's done. Even the LSU faithful are frustrated with their lack of production
