Coming from a guy who has owned several high end factory rifles and now I have a custom that I had built they are not the same. Not even close....
I got some. Went for lightweight. Kimber has me beat. Shot a Adirondack a couple months back and got under MOA WITH a can on it and handloads. Couldn't believe it. Went for accuracy in a target rifle... Now Ruger's running neck and neck. Shot several groups around .6 in a row with a 6.5. Think I can get .5 out of it. I'll build another "custom" rifle. I got a Savage on deck to build. I'm not telling anyone how to spend their money, just saying.... it leaves a lot left over for a better scope. Those Adirondacks are the finest feeling Mountain rifles I've ever picked up. I hate that ugly stock they put on them though. I'm building an ultralight 308 off a tikka action to try to get it as light and nice as those things are.
