You just saved yourself some money for a comparable product.
You can justify spending the money for a particular caliber in a "Custom Rifle" I suppose, but current offerings on the market really can't be beat and make more economic sense. People like Kimber and now Ruger with the Precision Rifle pretty much have made "custom" rifles about obsolete at this point in my opinion. A guy with $1500 in his pocket can play ball with any of them. Lightweight, long range, whatever flavor you are looking for.
Why spend 3-4k to get the same end product?
That Nosler is every bit as custom as some rifles costing 2x that. I have one in .260. It is a tack driver.

I was gonna build a custom rifle, but found what I was looking for in a factory rifle. I really lucked out, cause finding one is as rare as hen's teeth.

I got some. Went for lightweight. Kimber has me beat. Shot a Adirondack a couple months back and got under MOA WITH a can on it and handloads. Couldn't believe it. Went for accuracy in a target rifle... Now Ruger's running neck and neck. Shot several groups around .6 in a row with a 6.5. Think I can get .5 out of it. I'll build another "custom" rifle. I got a Savage on deck to build. I'm not telling anyone how to spend their money, just saying.... it leaves a lot left over for a better scope.

My Shaw was built on th savage 110 action without the barrel nut. It shoots really good. Went with the Timney instead of accu trigger.

Those Adirondacks are the finest feeling Mountain rifles I've ever picked up. I hate that ugly stock they put on them though. I was surprised at the deal I found on here about a month ago for a sako a7 tecomate in 300wsm. Shoots factory 180gr winchester power points to less than 1/2moa with three cold barrel shots at 100 yards. Found another good deal on here for a brand new vx3 4.5-14x40 cds. Point being, Don't be afraid to buy used if you know what to look for. I am a fan of used rifles but I try to get as much history on the rifle as possible and I take time to check the bore, barrel tip, bolt, firing pin, trigger assembly, and action. More times than not, you can find a used rifle in great shape and save hundreds. The only addition i will make to the rifle is maybe a break/threaded capped end for a suppressor.
