game wardens, just like most LEOs usually have little to do with what any fine is. Some fines are set by law but, big BUT, a judge can, and a lot of times does, set the fine where they want to. Above and/or below the standard.

failure to record a kill is a regulation violation and is, ifin I remember right, a $25-$500 range.

that said, a LEO can influence a Judge sometimes in setting fine amounts, depending on the Judge, the LEO, and their professional relationship. I had a Judge in Greene Co, Osborn, that would ask me the fine as set by law, then ask my rec on the amount.

Once again this depends. If the fine was at $225 the court cost could be $225, or there could be an additional bond fee or some other fee imposed.

For the most part if I have a conviction in Cullman and say the fine was $50 you end up paying $100 total with court cost, or if it was $100 fine then you'd have $100 court cost for a $200 total. However, like I said this varies, different courts have different costs and judges may set your fine higher than the minimum fine. I'll add that say a fine of $1,000 would normally not be matched with a court cost of $1,000. I haven't heard of court costs being much over $500 on conservation tickets, usually it's below $300 court cost.
So while the harvest record fine and cost might be $100 in one county or case it could be $200 or $300 in another county or case.

Here is a law relating to this.

Does "RECORD" mean to have written down on Harvest tag, or to call in, or to do both?

Well blanks for unantlered deer were put on it when the reporting of does was going to be required. It was not taken off when the reporting of does and bucks became voluntary. So Now it's just there in case you want to record your does and report them, not required...shoot you could doodle a picture over those unantlered blanks if you wanted too.

Record means writing down your bucks and turkeys on the harvest record before you move the buck or turkey. You do not have to call anything in if you don't want to.

"Normal" court costs is set by the state, then modified by each county. It's supposed to be the same across the state but each county adds different fees to it. It usually runs around $250 , give er take some.

On G&F fines court costs usually match the fine as in the post by yotetrapper. This was done by the state to keep a court from fining someone $100 for fishing w/o license, then assessing a $250 court cost on top of it....$350.00 total!!!!

Good thing that a pen and a piece of paper is all that it takes to save the species from extinction!! Or, turns all bucks into B & C record animals! Good grief!

They should have the online recording via app etc. That way certain individuals couldn't just throw away the harvest record when it is full and get a new one. Just my .02¢

It's my understanding that the court cost is the same amount as the fine?

up to the amount of regular court costs. Otherwords a 500 fine won't have a 500 court costs attached. More like 250 court costs.
