Was able to sit with one of my best friend's son. We had does in the foodplot then this girl popped out. He did the right thing and gave her a poppin!!  That looks like a wolf, great job taking it out!!

Little BGH and I went to our lease in tallapoosa county Thursday after school. We hunted on Friday and saw some does but couldn't get a shot.
On Saturday morning we hunted a field I the middle on 75 acres of 7 year old long leaf pines. Right at daylight a 3" spike walked into the field at 90 yards. I got the gun up and once he looked through his scope and saw it was a spike he said he wanted to pass him because he was too small. This coming from a 10 year old kid that's only killed 2 deer and a hog. We saw a doe a little later in the morning but couldn't get a shot.
That afternoon we went to a different food plot. We had been there for an hour when a bobcat comes out at 85 yards. He got his gun up and shot and dropped the cat. We quietly walked over and took the cat back to the blind. Needless to say he was pumped about his cat. That's another trip to the taxidermist for me.
About 45 minutes later a 1.5 year old 4-point stepped out at 125 yards. Since he had passed a buck earlier in the day I asked if he wanted to shoot this one. He asked if it was ok and I said if you want to you can but from now on they will have to be older. He one again got his gun up and squeezed the trigger and that me buck dropped. He was completely beside himself.
I asked him if he wanted to stay and try and shoot a doe and he said, "Daddy if we stay, I'll end up killing everything here and there won't be anything left to shoot. I don't want to be greedy."
He was hunting with his Remington Model 7 in 6mm Remington he calls "The 6."
I'm currently in a tree in Kansas and I can't get my photobucket to work so Skullworks is going to post his pics sometime today.
Congrats to all th kids that had lucky is weekend and thumbs up to the adults for taking them.

Love seeing all the pictures. Its great to see the blooded cheeks. I did not start hunting until I was 18. Went with my father in law to his club in Pickens county. Shot a nice doe. Everything was fine, I drug it out of the woods, loaded it in the truck and headed to the camp house. They showed me how to clean it.
Then it got messy. There were 5 large men who grabbed me (at the time I was 6'2" and about 195#) and proceded to pick me up and dunk my ENTIRE head into the gut bucket. Several times. I was not happy but had no way out.
Later is was funny, but not at the time.
At least nobody had a camera, and cell phones were not around in the late 80's.
I love my country, but don't trust my government.

Had a great youth weekend at our club. My nephew got his largest buck yet. A nice 11pt  My son got a nice doe.  My sons friend got his first deer. Man he was pumped up. Said he likes hunting lots better than fishing lol. Memories that will last forever.
