I agree that the OP advertised it as "combine run". That may not mean much from some folks but I'm not a farmer and I interpreted that to mean that it was coming straight from the field if you wanted it. You can't blame a fellow for trying to sell something at a reduced price for a bargain. Some folks just need to understand what they're getting. If you want certified seed, be prepared to pay more because it costs more.

Lastly, the info may have come from aldeer but that doesn't mean it was a member. I think some of the forums, if not all, are open for public viewing. It very well could have been some competitors down the street who found it with a quick Google search and decided to report it. Either way, I hate it for you.

I've never sold any of my soybeans but I do have some buddies that come get some out the combine every year to feed and plant. Guess I'm gonna have to check to make sure I'm not doin anything wrong down here. Or I can just keep my mouth shut. Prolly to late now.

Thanks, but it's actually going to effect the people buying it. I can still sell it to feed mills. I was trying to offer a cheaper way for hunters to plant game plots and farmers to over seed their pastures. I will still have the fall grain mix, I just have to go through a commercial feed mill to comply. It will be in certified weighed bags with a certified label stating the contents and nutritional value at around $2.00 a bag more. I will offer it again at an early buy price when I know what the increased price to comply will be.

Marshmud, they told me I could get in trouble with Monsanto for selling the soybean/corn mix. Next year, I plan on planting Non GMO seed.

To my understanding you could have sold it as feed and not SEED. I thought you had it tested and they wouldn't let you sell it. But I see the light now.

Dennis, they weren't joking about that. I know a farmer that got hit for between $75,000-$150,000 for saving soybean seed and replanting it. That wasn't a rumor I heard, he told me the whole story, I just can't remember the dollar amount. Monsanto DON'T play with that RR stuff. I didn't think about that, but in all honesty the state and the aldeer snitch inadvertently may have saved you a fortune. Since this is a public website it wouldn't have been hard for Monsanto to find out you had sold the soybeans and corn so IMO, I'd look at it as a blessing in disguise.

There was a case several years ago Scruggs vs Monsanto. The Scruggs are farmers in Tupelo and farm around 30-31k acres. They were selling seed and Monsanto sued them. The Scruggs had to pay Monsanto like 5-10 million. That's why you have to fill out paperwork when you buy RR seed now

Virtually ALL feed corn is Round Up Ready. So every feed store, including Wal-Mart, sells RR feed corn. The soybean/corn mix would have been sold as a feed mix. Either way, I have been forced to comply to be able to continue selling any of the grain mixes. Thanks again for your support.

Well when I read " combine run" I thought for sure you were selling it as feed. Thought everyone knew ya can not sell the RR grain for seed. They'll sue you outa business. Just ask Mike White from Pisgah who used to own a seed cleaning business. I think he was about the first to be sued, they made and example outa him.

So you saying you'd have been OK to sell it for feed had it not been mixed?

Millions would indicate a minimum of two million seed per pound. Bermuda seed is about the smallest seed I could find information on. There are estimated to be two million seed in a pound of Bermuda. Most of you can relate to clover seed size. Yuchi Clover was the smallest clover seed I could find and it has 400,000 seed. It would take 5 pounds of pure Yuchi seed to have two million seed. There is no possible way there could be two million weed seed in a pound if all I combined was a weed field. Any weed seed in combined fall grain would most likely be summer annuals that die out with the first frost.

I didn't say it was a member, just someone from ALDEER . The Ag agent commented on several things that were posted only on ALDEER over several months.

Don't know about this Wilborn selling seed or feed but the link on his banner ad on this site locked my iPad unless I clicked ok to see naked pictures of neighbors. I clicked for hunting supplies and to see what seed and feed he sells. Had to shut whole thing down. Something is wrong with your ad. Not sure what's up with your ad but none of the others do it. You might want to check with someone to see what's up.
