I've got several fields that I mixed my corn seed and soybean seed. It's roughly 50/50. I am pre-selling it for $8.00/50Lb. bag. I believe I will have close to 100 bags of it for sale. Must be paid for before the end of October, can be picked up by the end of December. It is combine run grain. Call 256-737-9595 to order.

The Alabama Dept. of Ag has stopped me from selling combined grain. Somebody from ALDEER called them. I had no idea that an individual couldn't bag and sell the grain that they combined to individuals. I will have to get a commercial feed license or get a feed manufacturer to bag the grain in the future. I will let you guys know when I get it straighten out. Thanks for your support.

Some real peckerheads in here......and, they know who they are! The rest of us are slowly figuring it out.

Can you sell the grain in bulk if people bring their own bags/barrels?

I can't remember his username but from one of the threads about Dennis and the NWTF seed last year or maybe the year before, I would just about guarantee you it would take 10 seconds to figure out who called them.

The bigger question is whether this is something exclusive or a new "regulation" by the Ag Department that affects all co-ops, stores, seed joints and otherwise that mix their own.

And if it is, then the Ag Department should have announced it publicly. If they have, it would be nice to see it.

You could just sell the bags and give the contents away for free.

That is how Jack Daniels does it in Lynchburg.

I don't know about the specifics of selling FEED, but I do know you can't sell something as SEED unless it's been cleaned, and germination tested.

Wasn't me but still wouldn't piss on Dennis. Like kid rock says "people get what they deserve". Ag Dept just doing there job. Can you imagine how much weed seed is present in a bag of combine run seed? That's how invasive weeds are spread

You sure it was an aldeer member? Sounds like someone that would know the regs. Someone in the grain business that is selling "deer corn" ......co-op or feed and seed store in your area, maybe?

What did your Gemanation and weed percentage test out to be on it Wilburn?? When you tested it before selling it for SEED.... Maybe I jumped to conclusions before I asked these questions.... "overreacted"

I doubt he tested it Dw that's the reason the prices were as good as they were.

Well then, he is in the WRONG, for trying to sell it for SEED.. The way I had read it, was he had tested it, and they was giving him slack... now he could have sold it for feed i think.

I advertised it all as combined run. I sale certified feed and seed for twice the price. My point is that everybody who wanted to purchase it was told up front it was combined. I had people ask about percentages and germination. They were all told that I did not get any of it tested, that's why it is so much cheaper. I wander when the farmers will be told they can't sell grain out of their bins? I spray every field with herbicides, so weed content is minimal. I'm doing what the Dept. of Ag has asked. The price will just be higher than before.
