True, but those grants come with catches many agencies are not willing to abide by in order to qualify.

BTW, everyone seems to think the Tahoes are expensive. When we bought ours they were just a small price more than a suitable patrol car. They are bare bones compared to the regular Tahoes and are bought on a state bid. Not the luxury ride many people think. I drove one for two years and it was my last duty issued vehicle before I hung it up. Man you won't believe how you feel every little pebble you run over in those things because of the heavy duty suspension and they sit 2" lower than stock Tahoes.



Also, those Federal grants are still tax dollars.


I understand that but if your city doesn't get it others will! Obama made lots of grants available over the years. People were complaining when our town starting putting in new sidewalks. It was done with grants. I'm glad our town isn't letting Bessemer, Selma and other places get all the "free money". It's going to be spent in some town so I'm glad we're getting a cut.
