Be a lot of trouble but attach a hinging gait about 6' tall with a lock.

I would put no trespassing signs on the tree that the ladders are on. Then nail them if that doesn't work. They know they aren't supposed to be there.

Is you property properly posted (No Trespassing)?

Get law enforcement involved if you haven't already.

Most poachers can't read or believe they are above the law until they get caught.

Simple to build. 1"X 1" square tube frame with expanded metal welded to it with hinges on the side. Attaching it securely might be a pain.

Sometimes it ain't easy when you are surrounded by people who, when they live close by ,believe it's ok to make a quick hunt. I have talked with the warden, signed papers to let them try to set up decoys to catch poachers at night , but when I complain of my problem, it falls on deaf ears. I am just trying to come up with a simple solution to keep them out of my stands . Thanks again, Johnny

Rip a sheet of plywood in half on one side sandwich a 24 between the 2 and screw it off. Cut a hole in the open side. Slide it over the ladder and chain it off. They will have to figure out how to scale an 8ft tall piece of plywood to get to the first step.

Dig a 7 ft deep by 4 ft wide hole at the foot of the ladder and cover with leaves...include a few snacks and a water bottle in the bottom and come back a week later....in all seriousness tho, get the warden on the phone about it and a trailcam...make em pay for it more than just puttin locks on your stand cause they are on your land so blocking a stand won't stop them from hunting your land...

Now your talking! I knew there had to be a way to make something like this . It won't stop them ,but at least they can't climb my stands to hunt and sometimes steal them. Thanks for the input and jokes guys.

If this person is poaching or trespassing getting a ladder lock would be the least of my worries. If this is a lease and some other club member is slipping in or its public land and this person has reason to be on property, I'll defer to the tech experts.

Bury a battery in the ground and run the wires up each leg frame. You could call that stand "lightning bolt".

Get them on a trail cam. Have there picture developed poaching, place in a ziplock bag and hang it on the stand with a nice note. Or just get you a satellitle trail camera and wait on the text and then have a come to jesus meeting with them. Have them arrested and make them pay for the camera and the app for using it. The pluses are they go to jail and you get a free awesome trail camera.

Game camera, fine, and ask the law enforcement in your area to plaster their face on the news and local paper so everyone even their momma knows they are a low life POS

Take them and sell them.
If you take there stands, you would then lowering yourself to there level,I agree with Birmingham Fred catch them and make them pay.

I agree that 2 wrongs don't make a right. When I have taken stands I always leave a note. If they want it back, they have to call me and meet at a location of my choice. No one has ever called.

my take on finding stands is 1. if I have time I will stake it out and wait for the poacher and snatch his ass up 2. no time I take the stand and leave a note.
