Thanks. I got to thinking about it while I was out piddling around the farm this afternoon. We don't bush hog much at all, and what little we do is done before fawning season. The hay mower which does real nasty things to animals it hits, sticks out to the side of the tractor, and I think I decided on what I would build. I've got a stick of 2" square tubing, and I'm going to weld brackets to it so it will fit on the hay spear and stick out to the right side of the tractor the same length that the mower sticks out to the side and weld log chains to it. Does it need to be log chain sized chain?
