Had one done in 1984, recovered fully in a little over a month. Had the other done in 2007, three months on crutches with no weight on affected knee, brutal rehab, took almost six months to get back to work, hurts every day. First was a meniscus tear, second was thought to be meniscus tears, ended up being an old fracture inside the knee joint that destroyed all the meniscus. They had to do quite a bit of bone work that I would have never believed they could have done without open surgery. Very painful surgery that took a long time to get to even moderate pain.
