Casey went over and beyond what he had to do to find a dog and we couldn't find one close enough. Talked to Idaho Mike and he was going to come but it would be 1-2am before he could get here.

I hate that for you, haybale! It happens, though.

I saw 2 deer about 75 yds through the woods from me this evening.

Dang.....hate that for you haybale. I figured there would be someone up there in North Bama on point and ready to track opening day. If you could get someone to come out tomorrow morning they could still track it for you. A 24 hr old track is still plenty fresh for a tracking dog.

Folks that know don't shoot old does........ wink

Just got to say I admire a man who puts in the time search like that. I'm on a little fall break trip with the kiddos and been checking in here all day hoping for a happy ending. Congrats to the guys who got one this morning. Been fun following it.

I hate that for you haybale, I know how you feel though, I lost one last year that was probably a pope and young buck. It'll probably take you two or three weeks to get over it but time heals all wounds.

Hate that haybale.

I got away from work early enough to hunt a couple hours this afternoon. Wind was bad for the sets I have out, so I ended up climbing. About sweat to death in the process lol. I did see a fawn about 10 mins til dark. Walked right by my tree and surprised it didn't smell where I was standing unpacking and setting up the climber. 3 other guys in the lease hunted AM and PM but didn't see anything.

I was a lot happier than what the picture makes it out to be lol talladega national forest 61 yards shot. Didnt even get settled in good this afternoon before she came out had to watch her feed around for a long time before it started getting dark. I had been shooting at 60 the day before so when she gave me a good broadside shot I took it
