Alright guys, getting the itch. I pretty much only hunt public land in Al, but got an invite to bow hunt a week in Pike County Illinois. I've elk hunted out west a few times, but this is the first time I've deer hunted outside this state. We leave next Thursday.
I don't know anything about the property other than it's a 2800 acre working farm that 4 of us will have to ourselves.
Not really sure what to expect yet, but owner does require all bucks to be 135 inch minimum.

135" minimum is a lot of bone!!! Good luck, hope u get a good one! Yep. I haven't seen but a couple that big while hunting and none within bow range. Hopefully I won't see one that's borderline.

Leaving Thursday at noon and will get it started Fri afternoon. I just found out it is 135 inch B&C net, not gross. Chances are slim of actually slinging an arrow, but I've been told some in the 170's to 180's are taken there each year.

I try to hunt atleast 2-3 days a week. I run my squirrel dog a good bit too though.

I hunt a good bit and have had a pretty good streak the past 5 years or so. Hopefully it will continue.

Im taking off early opening thursday and all day friday going to hunt oakmulgee thursday afternoon hook the boat up then head to david k nelson friday pickensville saturday and depending on what i see hunt one of the those 3 sunday
