I had the test a few years ago. It was tough trying to go to sleep with all the wires hooked up. No TV, no sedative, no alcohol, it's time to go to sleep. At some point I fell asleep and was awakened to tell me I had a few episodes of not breathing. Nurse put a cpap device that covered only my nose. It was hard to get used to the air and learning how to keep my mouth closed. I didn't think I would ever go to sleep. At some point I did...about 3 am the next day. I woke up seeing the nurse that was the spitting image of Kathy Bates in the movie Misery hovering over me. She wanted me to try the mask that covers mouth and nose. I became claustrophobic and was ready to call it quits. Worst experience ever for me. I would like to go somewhere else if someone could recommend a good place to have it done. I never feel well rested or like I've had a good nights sleep.
