I was thinking about me and some other guys taking the kids and dogs to squirrel hunt and camp in Bankhead this squirrel season. Anybody done much camping or squirrel hunting in Bankhead. It's a big place don't want to spend all day hunting the wrong places when I could be three miles down the road killing squirrels.

I did it years ago. We did it around the start of the season so we didn't have to worry about deer hunters. We spent 2 nights and coon hunted the national forest and squirrel hunted the WMA. We had a good time and killed coons both nights and a good many squirrels too. We rode into Moulton to eat a couple of times but the rest of the time we ate what we brought with us. There are some spots that are not to bad as far as walking goes you just have to ride a little and look for them.

"Deer hunting used to be the pinacle of hunting-what you graduated to after learning to hunt small game. Trying to throw a kid into stand hunting, without having ever learned to HUNT is probably an effort in fultility." BSK

Never really tried road hunting. Mostly cast from tailgate to coon hunt or Squirrel hunt. Was gonna try and coon hunt to but don't know that kids can handle that much squirrels in evening then coon hunt that night and squirrel hunt again am. I'm thinking end of November. Gotta schedule around deer hunters and the important Bama games.

Park at the gate and walk toward Greenfields eight and nine. Continue walking past and just follow the road till the end. I usually limit out every time I go
