I'm looking to buy a new climbing stand before bow season starts. I've been using the same steel ole man since I was old enough to climb by myself. I'm a little behind on what's the latest and greatest. I'm wanting light and comfortable. Also I'm 5'10" 205lbs so I don't need an XXL stand. What is everyone using?

I'm 5'9" 185 and I have a summit mini viper. I traded in my summit titan, their largest model, for the smaller stand. The mini viper is the easiest climbing stand I have ever used and it packs in and out better. There's a trade off for everything. It's much easier to climb with so I don't sweat my tail off. However, there's not as much room but I don't sit for 8 hours any more. Just my 2

Look at treewalker. THey have a nice selection and they all have heavy load limits. You wont regret buying one either. www.treewalkertreestands.com

Check out the mancini 360,I'm thinking of getting out of a summit and trying these. They are made by superior treestands

I have heard a lot of good things about the tree walkers but I have never climbed with one. I have a few buddies that use summits and they have no complaints. Which model tree walker do yall use?

Before I'd throw out a recommendation I guess it would depend how you hunt. How far is your walk in, and how tough is it to get to your typical setup? If you hunt public land or have really mountainous terrain then weight is a big factor. If you hang it on a tree and don't have to pack it in and out, then you should look for comfort. If you bow hunt then having a stand that isn't going to get in your way is important.

Bigshot Buckshot are where it's at...I also use an Equalizer which has done me quite good

I did this same thread last year. I bought a tree walker. I bow hunt and climb anything from pines to oaks. Happy happy happy. I am in mobile county if anyone wants to try it out.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
My phone screen does not always work right, usually a lot of misspelled words....

Snowman I use a PROMAG XL 350 weight limit, weighs 19 lbs
It has removable front bar for bow hunting. I love mine. I bought the chill pad and its so easy to fall asleep in. Check the diminsons and youll see they are very roomy too.

Bigshot Buckshot are where it's at...I also use an Equalizer which has done me quite good Got 2 equalizer magnums and IMO,it's the most stable and comfortable stand out there. Little heavy for packing in and out,but perfect if your going to be leaving it in the woods
