I had a fella tell me about some ledges close to deep water where they werte catching 10-40lb yellar catfish in 2-4 feet of water at night while bass fishing with jigs. Anybody know where this might be??? I'm tryin to find a place to catch big yellar cats on a flyrod...

This time of year alot of fisherman make the mistake of only catfishing at night when the real action is from 10:00am till dark. The cats should be real shallow right now on sun exposed flats close to ledges or steep drop offs. You need to find flats with a real hard bottom though. I always catch 100 or so catfish in a couple weeks time this time of year in Guntersville out of one spot and they are for the most count yellow cats with a few channels mixed in. Nigh crawlers of fiddleworms are your best bet.

I was bass fishing on lay monday afternoon and hooked about a five pound cat on a slider. right off of a point by bozo's. caught a few bass, but i don't like the cats.

Naw William, I want to catch BIG yellar cats on my flyrod. The guy that told me about it used to come into Cahaba Outdoors a lot, drove a pest control truck and tournament bass fished. He's changed his nextel # and I can't remember his last name...first name Shane. You know him???

The cat action will get better 'bout the first of May here in G'ville.   I hope the 'banded water snakes' have had a bad breeding season. 
I like my dogs a lot better than I like most people.
