I live in the city. And I can tell you that we are no closer to a race war, race riot, or a SHTF scenario than we were in the 60's, or in 1992. If folks worried more about their own families and lives and stopped watching so much TV we would all be in a better spot. America is not on the verge o a collapse. If you disagree, prove it to me. Yes we are 21 trillion in debt. That debt happens to be the most stable form of investment the whole world over. We seriously need to get our finances under control, but our economic system is not on the edge of disaster. Bullshit happens all the time. Some of you are playing right into the hand of the media and govt. If we can't work together, we certainly can't stand up together against unconstitutional infringement.

I live here too, and I'm not going to go all Gomer on y'all and claim it's the best city on earth, but it isn't that bad. When you're out at a bar downtown at 2 in the morning, you're increasing the odds of putting yourself in harms way to begin with. I think bill had his tin foil hat on when he started this thread like these two shooting events were some kind of black revolt or uprising, but now that the facts are out, it is nothing more than two unrelated events that could happen anywhere. Throw in a few extreme responses and jlcoffee, and you have the recipe for 6 pages worth of ramblings. As was stated earlier, always carry and have situational awareness and you will be miles ahead It does seem that they are unrelated. My intention wasn't for this to turn into a bashing of each other. I was trying to warn those that traveled or lived there. I lived in Montgomery for 23 years and I do know for sure that the city has way, way more violence and murders today than when I grew up. 50 murders last year, alone. Per capita that puts it up there with a lot of other cess pools. There is a reason why families are getting the heck out of that dump and it isn't only because the public school system is a train wreck. Btw, I wouldn't write that road rage incedent off just yet. Strange would go to great lengths to shield the community from the truth should it turn out to be something different.

Well, considering the world has rarely seen 21 trillion of anything that God didn't create (like particles of sand..), unless you've never even managed even a basic household budget,you'll know that when the money (welfare) runs out there's only one result. Anyone that thinks this country can keep running up the bill to infinity is just naive.AND, nobody in our government has made any effort stop the bleeding. It's going to happen.

There has NEVER been a cover up like come out of Montgomery a few years ago when the pastor was found dead with his hands and feet tied behind his back. Said he did it to himself. Not many people can tie their hands and feet together behind their own back. Said it was a sex thing. But I think Bright was the mayor then and totally off subject.

There is a lot of problems and issues in Montgomery but they are no different than any other large city in this state. Pretty much everybody has a bad side of town but in my opinion Montgomery's has been spreading at an alarming rate. This is the reason my wife and I are making our permanent residence elsewhere.
From what I have been told inside the city limits the demographics are 60 % black and 10 % other races. If you are a white person you are in the minority and have been for at least the last ten years. Times they are a changing in the cradle of the confederacy.

Did you just suggest that since I live in a smaller town than you that there's no way I could understand national debt, race relations, media interference and government slight of hand? And did you just say that 21 trillion bucks is ho-hum run of the mill debt for this country? And did you make those comments and then suggest that those of us who question and have concerns about all of the above are playing into the hands of the media? Come on man.

When is the last time you left your car door unlock? or house?? When people pull up to the farm, we always know they are form the city, when they get out and lock the doors on their vehicle... Since we are getting sidetracked (which isn't a bad thing in this instance) the only reason our paper money has any worth is because the public believes it does. No other reason, at all. Nothing backing it and inflation is on the rise. All it would take for a complete collapse is for the people to lose faith in the government and banking system. There are several scenarios where that could happen and if you have a clue what /who Clowerd Piven is thenot you know one such way it could happen. Or you could believe that America is different from every other capitalist society in history and that we will survive in spite of the economic absolutes that other capitalist societies have been subject to.

In the real near future we will not be able to afford to pay the interest on our debt. When the Feds stop printing and start raising the rates hang on for the ride. I lived through the Jimma Cawta days of high inflation; my Ford 150 was an 8 percent loan and my house was 12 percent. And that was with perfect credit. We are in for an extremely rough ride and it will last for years.
But kinda back on topic, when the above happens, we won't have to go lynching anyone, they will be coming for us.

I thought this thread was about problems in Montgomery. Now its just about problems everywhere. Which is usual. As History has told us over many generations, problems in North America usually start and end in Montgomery. But for now, I'm locking this thread... ya'll are getting way off in the stupid end of things.
