I think I would go with clover. The DOT grows it along the sides of the road all over Alabama with very little effort. I'd go with crimson clover.....maybe even some durana mixed in or you might try dutch white.
Folks that know don't shoot old does........

Never heard that one before but I would suspect whatever happened to the folks who got fined probably revolved around baiting a dove field.

If planting it is legal or not would depend on if the feed wheat was a patented variety and who owned the patent.

This argument is BS. Sure you can plant feed wheat but there's no guaranteed germ or seed purity or noxious weed %. Gosh damn it just makes me mad some seed salesmen are phucking morons. And no Monsanto has zero to do with wheat. It has zero transgenic traits.

Here is pioneer's statement about their patented varieties. The question isn't if you can or can't plant saved seed or if you should or shouldn't, but if it is legal or not.
