They're losing several million viewers per year because people are getting rid of their cable packages, and every cable package that I've seen has ESPN included. This is a desperate attempt to gain new viewers, and it cheapens the legitimacy of the award

Sports are the only reason I still have cable. That includes the hunting sports. Times like these, the two months or so leading up to the beginning of football season, are excruciating. NASCAR gets a little boring waiting for the chase, the good golf is every so often, and I don't have the patience for MLB baseball. But when the NFL and College football kick off, its a 4 day a week ordeal. I love sports, and hate cable at the same time.
As for the recipient of the Courage Award tonight, well, bullshit is a good word if you ask me.

Don't watch that BS. Don't tune in to ESPN for any reason than a good ballgame. Not once during baseball season, just a little bit during softball and not at all for any sport other than football.
If the SEC committed to never playing on ESPN I'd never watch them.
I wish I were a bit more committed about taking more of a stand. I absolutely despise the political correct crap they project now.
