I fished Lay again this weekend to redeem myself for last weekend. Signed up to fish in the Asplundh tournament on Lay with a buddy of mine that works for them. We only caught 6 fish all day but they were good enough for 2nd place. We weighed 5 for 19.35lbs, 1st place had 19.60lbs. It was good early in the morning, but after 10:00am we couldn't buy a bite.

Going to Logan Martin next weekend for our club event. I am taking a truckload of grass from Lay Lake with me so I'll have something to throw at.

Hey kendall I am going back to lay this upcoming weekend, try to redeem myself from my upset two weeks ago. I know it has been taking good weight got any suggestions, I like fishing down river I got some good places if the fish bite what would you suggest??

If you are going to start downriver, which is where we started Sat, I would try a shad rap #7, and a jig pitched to the grass. the water was alot clearer below Waxahatchie creek so I had to take all my chartruese cranks off and went with the shad rap. We were expecting spots but ended up catching heads. Like I said after the morning bite was over we struggled big time!

For 19 pounds you must of caught um quick in one spot, just one after another, if it was as slow as you said it was for the rest of the day. I hope the weather and the fishing will be good this weekend, we are fishing out of Beezwax, maybe I can make something happen, have they been pulling water pretty regular on Saturdays??
