Get a bunch of preying mantis and let em loose. I killed 38 black widows in my garage a few years ago.

Brown Recluse got me back when I was around 20 y/o. I was working at a Warehouse, driving a forklift back then. When it got so bad I couldnt get on the forklift I knew i had to do something. Dr. Clayton in Pell City Lanced the swelled up-puss filled bite on my thigh. I was swelled up to below my knee.
One week out of work and lots antibiotics later I survived.

I HATE those things!!!

Needles to say, I now spray very regularly around the house and barn.

I haven't read through every response; but did some research and happened upon this site:

Getting Rid of Brown Recluse Spiders

Matt - best of luck, it sounds like you have your hands full on this one.

Ahhh hell nah....... The first thing I will do if I ever get big again is go straight to the hospital and tell that sob to start cutting before it gets bad.

I've got a similar story to sharpshooter. Got bit jumping in to a kayak that had been sitting. Tried messing with it myself. Went to the dr when it wasn't getting better. Idiot have me antibiotics and sent me on my way. Another 4 days and I couldn't walk and was running a high temp. Went to the hospital. Got rushed into surgery. Spent 4 nights in there. Out of work for 5 weeks. And to top it off, I picked up mrsa while I was in there and had a bout with that right afterwards.

You literally could not pay me to step foot inside that den of satan. I'd burn your house down.

matt I went to family dollar today to get some foggers to do my own battle with them recuses. I read the label and it said 1.75% cypermethin wich happens to be the same thing as demon. I think your main challenge will be getting the fog to reach the recluses hiding behind your wall board. which is why I say its more important to use alot in your crawl and attic. by the way i am going to invent a fogger that works in crawl spaces and shoots sideways. this could make some money

This is the meanest insecticide I have ever used. We got cut worms in the corn one year and coop recommended this. We sprayed in the morning and when we went back that afternoon the ground was littered with bugs. Worms, flies, beetles, bees. Any big you can think of was laying dead on the ground between the rows.

Poke a hole on the drywall and spray in there good. Easy to fix small hole in Sheetrock. Better than having deadly spiders crawl in your ear and lay eggs.

we spray all the outside brickwork of the barn and we spray the 2x6 base plate of all the walls on the inside.

nothing lives.

Sounds like Temprid SC. That's what I use on a regular basis and it will kill Black Widows for sure so I assume it will kill a recluse as well

Virtually the same scenario as mine. I went to my primary care doc on the fourth day, had a fever of 104.7,sent me to the ER and it was downhill from there. I also ended up with MRSA. Since the bite I have rashes pop up all the time. Had to start seeing a dermatologist for the first time in 44 years. It sucks.

I'm wondering if "infestation" is a legal claim on a homeowners policy? If they are as bad as reported, and cannot be eradicated...what is the alternative?

My DILs Grandmother just moved out of her old house due to brown recluse infestation. She has a nephew that works for an extermination company and he said it was the worst he had ever seen. After all her stuff was out and cleaned up so as to not take any spiders with her they screwed the doors and windows shut.

Didn't go to the farm yesterday but I'm here today. The product is lambda star 9.7%. Really good product and doesn't take much.

The dust we have is Delta Dust. Hope this helps.
