They have seamed to outlaw things that actully kill the bastages. Have a neighbor that got infested with them. Had a couple pest companies fail at eradacating them. Found one fellow that still would do "What it takes" to killem, rules be damned. No spiders now. I did the same with a flea problem in a rental house.

Dursban!
We had them in our shop like you describe. You could open the door and when the light but the floor they would literally run everywhere. Tried everything under the sun to kill them. Most chemicals/bombs would kill a lot but we'd still find a lot that it didn't. We accidentally ran across the Dursban and it wiped them out. It used to be a common pesticide but has been banned by the EPA. I'd look through old sheds/garages of relatives and see if you might find some. If you can get your hands on some, it'll clean them out.

All jokes set aside, Buy you some peppermint oil from wal-mart and soak some cotton balls and drop them in the air conditioning vents. I worked at GNC while in college and we sold alot of peppermint oil to old folks that swore up and down it kept them outta the house.i know of other people that said it worked. Id probably use alot from what it sounds like.

As a victim of a couple of nasty bites myself, one dead center of my right ass cheek, do whatever you have to do to keep them away from the little ones. From the tone of your posts, I guess you get that though.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Dursban will definitely do it if you can find it. DuPont or somebody came out with one called Duraguard or something like that and it was very similar to Dursban.

I feel like them bastards are crawling on me now after reading this thread. Good luck Matt! No kidding parranoia is my best friend with dealing with spiders. I won't put my fingers in the toilet paper roll with out making sure there are no spiders in it. I check the bed every night, check my cloths my daughters clothes. Check the throw pillows and blankets before I sit on the couch. I'll walk around with a flash light before bed a couple time a week to see if I find any hiding. I'm far more paranoid than my wife. I hate them bastages and God help me if I feel like something is crawling on my. I turn into a ninja real quick and can shed my clothes in about 1.5 seconds.

Ive used Demon WP...its an insect horror show...everything dies...sprayed flower beds with it and millipedes and centipedes came out rolling up and dying...crickets spiders... I also use 38 Special from Hi Yield...read instructions about indoor use ...outdoors I spray everything within 5 feet of my house...about once a month...we also set off bombs 2x a year...gotta keep pets and kids out of house 4hrs or so afterwards... If it wouldnt freak you out, ...I have like 15 toads who line my back porch every night...saw one eat a HUGE Wolf Spider one night about as big as a coke can top...

We had them in our basement and after a few sprays with demon the only ones I saw were dead. Now I rarely see them. I usually spray the basement and around the house with it and Talstar every so often. I would hit it hard with demon while aqquiring some Tempo and nuking the house good with it while the family is away for a night or two. Keep spraying after the initial efforts every month or so.
I hope you gettum and hope your family is not bit any more.

If you've got pets get them out of the house (maybe move them to your parents, etc.) Before you start your war on them. Would hate to accidently kill the family dog, which ain't beyojd the realm of possibility.
Good luck!

Iv'e had success treating 4 buildings with a severe infestation. They were commercial metal buildings, I cleaned out one and saw over 100 recluses. I used regular foggers in the attic and rooms at the same time and left it shut for a week. also it was cold when I did it. when I came back there were dead ones everywhere. I also used Demon HP, you can find it on ebay or online stores. demon is old school cypermethin. wherever you spray demon there seems to be a line of dead bugs. i have two more money saving tips instead of buying glue traps, try using duct tape. second you may want to try bowls of water or filling the bathtub with an inch of water at night. I once lived in a house that had hay for insulation, that was so bad my parents made me sleep outside in a tent for a year

Buy you a couple dozen house geckos and turn them loose. After the spiders are gone release a few tokays to drive out the house gecks. A single boomslang will make quick work of the tokays. Well maybe not a boomslang, perhaps a long nosed tree. Problem solved and you now have a cool new herp to add to your collection.

Another vote for demon, that stuff last for months. I sprayed a line parallel, along the bottom to my garage door in the basement, six months later any bug that crossed that line was dead.

Dursban has the same active as Lorsban. I'd spray yard and crawl space with it but not inside the house, it stinks too bad for that. You do need a permit to buy it.
