Save your money and buy land -don't think things like the stock market and such will work out .
Buy land and some rental property .

Decide where you want to be in ten years. Plan it out and work toward that goal without fail. It will never be as easy for you as it is now. Do not let anything, especially a female, influence or deter you from what you really want. You are solely responsible for your own happiness in life, most others either want something from you or could care less about you.

As far as work/career, pick one thing that you really enjoy doing and learn as much as you can about that one thing.

Having a positive attitude everyday will have a huge impact on your life.

I ask my boys 3 questions every morning
1. Who is responsible for you?
2. What kind of attitude do you need everyday?
3. Is everyday a good day?

Answer these questions everyday for yourself.

Do whatever it takes, right now, to get an education in something that will allow you to make a good living. People always say do what you enjoy. Well I say, do what can make you a lot of money, so you can afford to do what you enjoy.

Great advice by everyone. I agree with Scrape, right after I graduated high school I had no direction in my life. Ole satan got a hold of me and ran me through the ringer. Luckily the good Lord had a plan for me and I am still alive. There are a half dozen or more occasions I should have died or been seriously hurt. Now saying that I wouldn't change 1 thing about my past, makes me who I am now. Keep a good relationship with your Maker, love your family, get a good job, save and invest, have fun catch as many fish, and kill as many animals as you can legally.

Keep a BIBLE on your bedside table. You may not read it every day, but at some point in your life, you'll need it.
Serve your country. We need young men with direction and discipline to take over for us old fart's someday and we need fine upstanding men of God to take on the challenge.
Date many women. You'll have to go thru a lot of crazy ones to find one that's not.
Take pride in your job. Somebody might notice, but if you have a bad attitude and poor job performance, EVERYBODY will notice.
Say what you mean, and mean what you say.
Fight for what's right, even when it's not popular.
Take up for the little guy.
Live within your means. It sux being broke on pay-day.

These are just a few things that come to mind.

You Can Have:
Women or Money
Kids or Nice Things

Pick any 2

Plan to have kids when you are ~28. This will make nearly everything you do easier.

Colossians 3 King James Version (KJV)

3 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Proverbs 3:5-6King James Version (KJV)

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Remember God created you and He has a plan and purpose for you, just make sure each day that you are in the center of His will and you will live that abundant life that Jesus gives.

I think about how much America has changed since i was you age and it scares me to think of how it will be when you get my age, so its vitally important to walk with the LORD.

Decide what you would enjoy for a job, for the rest of your life. Go to college or whatever it takes to get that job. My dad tried to tell me that in 1994. I wish I would have listened, now I am 38 doing my construction thing barely getting by. Thank God my wife has a good job.

Try to decide on a job with a company that is solid as far as a future goes. Paid insurance, and other benefits is a bigger plus than you might think right now.

To the OP, I was in your boat not too long ago.. At least it seems that way. The next 6-7 years are going to fly by and they are important. That said, go have fun. Keep a relatively open mind and experience all that you can, within reason. Keep your eyes on the big picture and find a mentor in the career fields that interest you. They can help you decide what you want to do if you don't already know.

There will be tough times, there will be times you may think you can't do something or something seems impossible. Life changes fast and nothing is permanent as long as you stay persistent and keep a positive attitude. Best of luck to you man.
