Have plenty of 1/4 oz and 1/2 ounce egg weights. Use more or less, depending on tide. You want just enough weight to keep it on the bottom. Small barrel swivel and fluorocarbon leader for white trout, ground mullet and specks/flounder/redfish. The Spanish will cut through anything other the steel with ease.

What about red fish. Can they be found close to shore or pier? They are all over the place in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area...if there's water, they're in it.
