I worked between Big Spring and Midland in 1978. We were trenching cable in the caliche. Some of that stuff was hard as granite. You could damn near set your watch by the afternoon dust storms. The place I had rented would have dust blown in after every storm. And the dang sulphur water/stinky air....glad I got out of there. That's the West Texas I know and loved. Lived in Lubbock for the first 40 years of my life.
