He's right. It is a licensed privilege and government has a right to patrol the roads for public safety but where the violating of rights occurs is through illegal search.

Does anyone remember the news story a few years back about Louisiana State Troopers stopping out of state folks with nice cars and illegally confiscating cash and vehicles just because they wanted them? If the citizens knew the reputation of that force , video camera and a knowledge of their rights I imagine they would have been able to keep from having their rights trampled on. It's not a perfect system but it is designed to protect us from an over zealous government more so than to protect us from unsafe situations.


If the Cops are that sorry then it wouldn't matter how educated the citizens were on their rights.


They were and it was before cell phone videos. One thing is for sure, if you aren't aware of your rights then you won't ever question anything law enforcement or government does. That's just the way they like it.
