I'm always interested in ways to preserve our civil liberties. I thought this was a cool exercise, and would either work or get guns drawn on you.

LOL, Chiefland, FL is notorious for its speed traps. I guess they are branching out into DUI checkpoints too.

So, I guess if you are going to be drinking and driving, you just have to remember to get all the paper work done and taped to your window before you start drinking.

I think the message citizens should take from that is that the police and government can not do whatever they like whenever they like and that they have rules to live by just like the rest of us. I can see how it could be seen as trying to bait or condone drunk driving but the average citizen has given over many of their rights to corrupt government and law enforcement simply because they don't think they have any right to resist. I don't open carry but I will support another's right to do so. Without all the video showing how officers illegally detained those who chose to open carry I don't think we would have the legislation in all these states recognizing that right. Also, what that video showed me was a group of officers who recognized the protections afforded by the Constitution. If more understood those protections there would be no reason for anyone to test them.

I am not sure they recognized the constitutional aspects but at least they recognized they were on camera and were smart enough not to make themselves youtube stars. Either way I am glad it worked out the way it did. I know the courts don't agree but there needs to be a reason to pull someone over.

Pretty sure the guy wasn't drunk. He was a lawyer and on camera.

That wasn't my point, regardless of his profession..if he had been drinking and driving he should have been checked and if need be went to jail.. people that have been out partying are gonna try this now and probably get away with it because of his post, and cause wrecks that take lives of innocent people, I don't care if he was sober, a lawyer etc..I see his point but at the same time how many drunks will see this and roll through a road block and possibly kill people? That was my point

I'm pretty sure drunks won't remember this, and if they do, they'll still screw some part of it up (like forgetting to put their license in there or something), or they'll swerve coming up to the stop to give the officers another reason to dig deeper.

Trading one evil for another. There are a lot things our government does that I dont like, dui check points aren't one of them. All this video does is show the scum of our society how to bypass a check point. Hopefully that stupid sob's family doesnt get t-boned by a drunk that bypassed a checkpoint using his method.

Bill, I disagree. The scum that you speak of aren't clever enough, are not well enough informed to prepare like this for a checkpoint. At some point it has to stop because if not it will get worse.

Get the F out of the BATFE. The F is guaranteed by the US Constitution. Those other letters are not.
