God works in mysterious ways. This thread has been resurrected for a purpose. I have a situation on my heart that I really need some advice about. I know of a church that has a person in a leadership position that just divorced. Nobody knew about this until it was done. No counseling with anyone in the church was had. The spouse suffered a serious health problem a couple of years ago and is disabled and in a nursing home. In my opinion, this person shouldn't continue in a leadership position. What do you say? I really need some Godly advice.
Touchy situation there. In my opinion, a man that is divorced should not serve in a leadership position of a church. I don't believe a divorce will keep you out of heaven either.
