Just had what appeared to be a very big fox come out in the back yard. I couldn't id 100%. Big reddish color with a shade of dark and a white tipped tail. Could have been a yore I suppose.
A fox won't hurt children or a lab would it?

A fox won't hurt children or a lab would it? Generally they will steer clear of children and especially labs (they are too big for it to handle) unless it's rabid. If you have any small animals like a cat or chickens you better shoot it the next time you see it.

Never have had a problem with ours.We have two that live in the woods behind the house that have actually become pretty tame.We were feeding them on a regular basis off the back deck and would whistle before I fed them. They got to where they would come running out of the woods and wait until we stepped back inside to come eat.All that ended when Rusty caught wind of it.They are still here and we see them quite often but not when he is around. We have one at the club that is used to us being around too and it hasnt ever done anything more than get into trash.

Here's what happens to the turkey nest busting varmints when I see them. I turn little man loose on em.

Foxes are hell on yard cats, chickens, turkey/quail, and unsecured garbage cans.

Can't bring myself to kill a fox.

Had a doe in our backyard chase one after it got too interested in her spotted fawn. That fox wanted none of that pissed off mamma.
Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.
My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I don't shoot foxes anymore either. They have enough trouble with the yotes.

If it is that tame it may be rabid. Be careful letting you kids or pets around it.

We have a few around our house that give my dog hell. Not sure if it's the same one all the time or if they take turns, but they drive her crazy. I'll hear the fox barking just inside the wood line and I'll let my dog out and the chase is on! She'll eventually wonder back home and within 15 minutes it'll start again. I know my dog will never catch one, but lord have mercy on them if she does. I swear its a game for the foxes, but she doesn't have to good of a since of humor. Cheap entertainment for me when I'm cooking out.

They will hurt a flower bed. I live in town, and there is female that has raised 3 litters in our subdivision the last 4 years. They SHITE in my flower beds every night, and it smells as bad as a skunk.

They will get used to humans and not be real scared of them,my grandparents had 2 they would feed every afternoon and they came everyday for years, deadeye has posted some pics of one that frequents his yard, the only concern I would have is if it ever became rabid

To me, they're the same as coons. Nocturnal and hell on turkey eggs but not dangerous to humans or dogs.

No way I'm shootin' a red, one of the most beautiful creatures on the planet IMO. Not many reds in our area, I give the little fellers a pass.
