Lawson State (used to be Bessemer Tech) on the Bessemer Super Highway used to have a really good welding class. Not sure if they have it anymore but did years ago. My dad used to teach it part time in the evening and I competed in a welding competion in my senior year of HS there! This is where I would check first.
