I can hear it fairly good, just can't locate the direction.

Have any of you ever felt it when they are drumming? I have one time and have wished for it to happen again every since.

No, you won't be able to hear it on an iPad or phone. Need to watch it with speakers that has bass. I use noise-canceling headphone with bass built in, and the drumming is LOUD and clear.

Cause we can! Thank God in Heaven! laugh

I think it just depends on what type of hearing loss a person has. I can't hear high frequency stuff worth a chit. And it sux. An animal walking in super dry leaves has to be really, really close before I hear it but I can hear drumming a long way. BrentM is the only person I have hunted with thus far that can hear drumming from birds further away than I can.

X2 I can her one forever away drumming but can't hear worth a crap high pitched noises or any noises really in my left ear.

I know this character............... Don't let him fool you he makes them come running and they don't ever stop to stand around and drum.

Truth be told the only reason they come running is to run right past me to you calling behind me.

I can totally relate. Got on a jam up hunt in Wilcox County years ago. Buddy and I killed 3 turkeys in 3 hunts and should have got one more. All those turkeys came in drumming. A couple you could feel like that. I swear, I had that sound in my head all weekend. I could hear it in my head in the shower that night. It's a good sound. I'll never forget that trip.

I'm with you on this. I've sat next to my Dad in the woods many times and couldn't hear a bird drumming my Dad was listening to. I can identify the sound...IF I can hear it. For some reason, it's a struggle for my ears.

Great video. I'm lucky and can hear them drumming a long way off. I've killed a couple of birds that I heard drumming while walking. One was a bird that everybody in the club hunted at one time or another. Went in one afternoon to roost him and heard him drumming. Just clucked at him some, listened to drumming get closer, and saw a blue head stick up over a hill. Boom.....I absolutely love drumming. My tag is PHTDM. Phhhtttdddmmmmmm

Good story, Wade! But you misspelled it; there is no H in it. smile

At least, I can't hear one. smile

I know I've heard some over 200 yards, but that was perfect conditions with the turkey on the roost on a cold clear morning. My problem now is imagining that I can hear one when he ain't there.

It's wild when they are spiting and drumbing, just behind a tree, or beside you and you can't swing, or just can't pull off a clear shot.
I hate turkeys.

Tried that...still can't hear it...I think some people's ears just can't pick up that particular sound due to the frequency of it, or it could be from hearing damage...my ears constantly ring and I know I have abused them pretty good over the years

I can hear drumming pretty good, it has saved me from spooking many birds and helped me kill a few.

But for the life of me, I cannot hear it on tv or in this case YouTube.

its just something you'll never forget once you hear it... for the life of me I can't understand why some ppl can't hear it and I go through this every year with atleast 2 hunters.. I feel like I can hear it at 100 yards and some can't hear it at 20.. just part of it I guess

I hear drumming from a good piece. What I cant do is determine the direction of drumming. I am totally clueless until I see or hear the turkey.
