Over the past year or so, my 02 2500HD has been having problems with not cranking, or shortly after cranking it would die. Lately there has been several times I couldn't get it to crank at all, only to come back and it fire right up. Also had it die going down I20 twice.I was told to rebuild the fuel filter head assembly. Did that and it continued. Asked a mechanic at a job site I was on and he said the head assembly on those are bad to crack and go bad. So replaced the whole thing. Wouldn't crank at all after. Came back to the office where it was at after 3 days off, and cranked with no issue. Drove it 3 days with no problems and this morning on my way in to work, it died on I20 again. After a few minutes of fooling around with it, it still wouldn't crank. A coworker was about to head out to get me, and I decided to try it once more and it cranked fine. So I have read the crankshaft position sensor could be causing this problem. Anyone know if that might be it or have any other suggestions I should try? I am getting tired of dropping money on it for it not to be fixed. Also, since I know someone will ask, it ad 132K on it when I bought it and had the injectors changed shortly before, and it now has 160K. I have also tried 2 new fuel filters, and replaced the supply and return lines for the fuel filter.
