I sat and listened to Skinny and Dixiepatriot talk for several hours one night and learned a lot. It's nothing I'll ever be able to use, but it's some great knowledge.

That's right... We had a good one this past August....may not have been the old school original crowd but is was a good one.... Bunch of y'all chose not to come but it was a blast... Ol Skinny showed as well and was one of the first to pass out..  ... But we gonna do it again....and everyone will be welcome...again....but that will be up to y'all to show....

That's right... We had a good one this past August....may not have been the old school original crowd but is was a good one.... Bunch of y'all chose not to come but it was a blast... Ol Skinny showed as well and was one of the first to pass out.. ... But we gonna do it again....and everyone will be welcome...again....but that will be up to y'all to show.... We've got a much bigger crowd now with folks scattered all over the State. Guntersville State Park was always very accommodating but it got hammered by tornado's so we haven't been back since. I'd love to do it up there again because it was a great location and anyone could come at their own leisure without having to depend on anyone else for accommodations. Regardless, Like Tru-Talker says, I've never been to an aldeer throw down that wasn't an absolute blast.

But have tried to make all the ones since... Have met some great people and had a blast at the ones I've made... Even hosted my own this past year which turned out great...and will continue to host them.... Hopefully a few of you older guys will choose to come on down this year.... Not a doubt in my mind you'll have a good time....

 I found this picture of AldeerSlayer's Late wife and DeadorALive that Sunday at breakfast at the lodge. One of the most hilarious conversations I ever heard took place between her and Bronco74. They brought the crawfish and asked Bronco74 to bring new potatoes for the crawfish boil, She was getting things ready and asked Hoyt where the new potatoes where and he reached in his boat and lifted a sack of Idaho potatoes. She was furious. She said "Dammit Hoyt I told you new potatoes!" I swear he looked at me and hollered back at her "These are new potatoes, I just bought em yesterday!" The rest of that is true aldeer folklore.
