If 100 years from now the entire country believes in Zoroastrianism instead of Christianity that's OK, because our founding fathers framed our constitution in a way to accept eventual change that they could not predict. They were smart enough to know that they had no idea where this country would be 100, 200, 300 years after they wrote the document.

Our founding fathers were all Christians, no doubt, but they did not intend on this being a country ruled on biblical grounds. It's way too easy to twist and mold political reform under the guise of religious justification.

This is perhaps the dumbest and least educated posts I have ever read on Aldeer.

Man, there must be some extremely radical Left professors at UA to produce a history major with that kind of malarkey view point.

I would say that it would be important to know what someone means by "Biblical grounds." The entire basis of the American political philosophy is based upon the belief in the reality of the Jehovah God of the Bible and that man therefore has various Natural Rights from Him - not government, or kings.

The division of government into Three Branches - Executive, Legislative and Judicial is straight from Scripture. The Founding Fathers used this example and they said so. The Executive having a counsel of ministers (Departments) is also straight from Scripture - and the Founding Fathers said Scripture was a guide on that too. The Criminal Justice system is based on the Ten Commandments - thou shall not murder, steal etc. The modern civil justice system is based on the very next Chapter of Exodus after the Ten Commandments pertaining to civil actions for negligently inflicted injury, fraud, etc.

Did they want to establish an official Christian denomination as the official denomination of the country - as was the case in every European country which had led to tyranny and persecution there for centuries? NO. But they did expect America to be a Christian based and oriented country - and a moral one based on traditional moral values found in Scripture. And that is a fact.

And it is also a fact of Constitutional Law that there is NOTHING in the Constitution that grants (actually reserves is the right term) any person a constitutional right to marry a person of the same sex. And nothing that grants a right to a women to kill her unborn child. IT is only JUDICAL AMENDMENTS to the Constitution by JUDICAL FIAT of liberal judges that makes that stuff up out of thin air.

So WHO are the real defenders of the Constitution???
