This country was not founded on biblical principles and they have no need in shaping our political decisions and direction. At all. Take a civics class before any more of you argue on biblical grounds.
If 100 years from now the entire country believes in Zoroastrianism instead of Christianity that's OK, because our founding fathers framed our constitution in a way to accept eventual change that they could not predict. They were smart enough to know that they had no idea where this country would be 100, 200, 300 years after they wrote the document.
Our founding fathers were all Christians, no doubt, but they did not intend on this being a country ruled on biblical grounds. It's way too easy to twist and mold political reform under the guise of religious justification.

I suggest everyone in this thread purchase a copy of " what the constitution meant to early Americans" before you comment on the subject further. Unreal how uneducated you all are on basic political science. No wonder you guys argue for the most unsound positions ever.

Judge Moore is just what we need in this country. I have met him a few times so and he seems to be a genuine person. As far as these liberal judges and lawyers trying to interpret into the constitution that it ment that gays should be allowed to marry. That is just hilarious and shows how far off our educational system has been taken by liberals....God have mercy on us

Not sure how you have this: "This country was not founded on biblical principles."
And still have this..."Our founding fathers were all Christians".
This country has moved far away from the priciples of the Founding Fathers and we slowly let it happen to ourselves.
If you picked up a basic math class at Bama you would also know that this coountry won't be here in 200 or 300 years. There won't be enough ink on the planet to print the number of zero's that will be added to the debt in 50 years, much less hundreds.

300Ruger, debt may be the last of our worries at that point. As intolerant as the left has become over the last two decades, anyone not toeing the liberal line may be behind barbed wire or shot.

I had a friend who said he was gay, I also had a cousin the same. I told my friend that I could no longer be his friend, my family members know that I do not claim my cousin as family. since then I have refriended my friend due to him renouncing homosexuality. I believe it is necessary for christians to distance themselves from this. It is true that I have had my tires slashed and other things for my belief in this. But I can say that I am 0% responsible for the changes in acceptance seen. Remember Lotts wife in the old Testament. she was turned to a pillar of salt for looking back at Sodom and Gomora, maybe she still had friends there.

This is perhaps the dumbest and least educated posts I have ever read on Aldeer. Man, there must be some extremely radical Left professors at UA to produce a history major with that kind of malarkey view point. I would say that it would be important to know what someone means by "Biblical grounds." The entire basis of the American political philosophy is based upon the belief in the reality of the Jehovah God of the Bible and that man therefore has various Natural Rights from Him - not government, or kings. The division of government into Three Branches - Executive, Legislative and Judicial is straight from Scripture. The Founding Fathers used this example and they said so. The Executive having a counsel of ministers (Departments) is also straight from Scripture - and the Founding Fathers said Scripture was a guide on that too. The Criminal Justice system is based on the Ten Commandments - thou shall not murder, steal etc. The modern civil justice system is based on the very next Chapter of Exodus after the Ten Commandments pertaining to civil actions for negligently inflicted injury, fraud, etc. Did they want to establish an official Christian denomination as the official denomination of the country - as was the case in every European country which had led to tyranny and persecution there for centuries? NO. But they did expect America to be a Christian based and oriented country - and a moral one based on traditional moral values found in Scripture. And that is a fact. And it is also a fact of Constitutional Law that there is NOTHING in the Constitution that grants (actually reserves is the right term) any person a constitutional right to marry a person of the same sex. And nothing that grants a right to a women to kill her unborn child. IT is only JUDICAL AMENDMENTS to the Constitution by JUDICAL FIAT of liberal judges that makes that stuff up out of thin air. So WHO are the real defenders of the Constitution???

But they did expect America to be a Christian based and oriented country - and a moral one based on traditional moral values found in Scripture. And that is a fact. Nope. Good try attempting to present opinion as fact. They fully intended for the constitution to be molded by future constituents. Which religion they chose was of no importance. Hence the amendments. And like I said if this country eventually became majority jewish, muslim, zoroastrian, or any new religion in the future, that's ok and that's what the founding fathers wanted: a constitution that could be molded to needs of the majority. It just bothers you guys to the core that being a WASP is no longer the majority and never will be. Thus all decisions about this countries future is in the hands of those that do not look like or believe like you do. And that's ok, our constitution was framed to accept and move forward with that kind of change.
