Nothing today for me!
Good job Stripe! Another egg sucker gone.
Coffee I never knew we had as many otter as we do but every creek or stream I set usually produces a pair or two!

Nothing again! Pulled all my traps except 2 I have here at home. I'll be after the coyotes here again in a couple weeks.

North, Are you setting for otters just as you would for beavers? I mean in a run through a creek or such?

Yes! Just setting narrow runs and natural choke points.

Finally connected with something other than a coon or possum. Also caught a coon and a possum this morning. So far 9 possum, 6 coons and the cat. [img:left] [/img]

Was beginning to wonder about my technique on the dirt hole. That set had been in almost 3 weeks and freshened up Saturday. With K9's having a better nose I assume they are harder to catch?

Coyote's are harder to catch. Cats will let curiosity get them in trouble. I think that's part of what makes them more fun to catch. You can hang visual attractors like Christmas tinsel and build cubbys for cats to walk through with exposed traps!

Had another coon today and a trap missed at a dirt hole. I really think a deer or hog stepped in it. The bait was still in the hole and no sign of digging.

Deer and hogs are bad about nosing around sets and tripping traps!

Started back on Jan 31. so far have 6 coons, 2 grinners and a feral cat. All of this has come off of about 2-4 acres of timber on a friends 40acres that he is trying to keep the turkeys around. Coons and Op on dp's, feral cat on a foot hold. Im thinking I can get into this trapping deal

When you get to your spot and your trap is gone, don't forget to look up. Had this one and one more today. I've caught more this week than the previous 2 weeks combined.

K double your chain wrap around the base of the tree! I've caught a bunch in dp traps and have never had one climb like that!
