That's what makes a good judge, in your opinion?

My opinion is it has nothing to do with benefits and everything to do with further separating society from Christian ideals. If it wasn't they would be happy with civil unions or partnerships and you wouldn't have some private businesses forced to cater to them against their beliefs. It's agenda driven the same way racism is , these days. They want forced embracing of their lifestyle not just acceptance.

This is nothing more than a civil union. That is all it is if two heterosexuals go to the courthouse and get a judge to marry them. But, they call it marriage too. What about common law marriage, that is legal for heterosexuals.

Again, what this opinion did was force the state to issue licenses for civil unions, the word marriage is used because it is the common vernacular.

A private business or church can not be forced to perform a gay marriage. But, they can be forced to provide the same benefits to gays and they do to others.

Let me ask you this. Where did the concept of marriage come from? Is it not in essence biblical in its origin? Does the definition of marriage biblically defined specify that it is between a man and a woman? Was marriage not originally a Christian process that was later sanctioned by governments around the world?

My point is this. Marriage from its root is a Christian practice that the federal government chose to observe. I don't really give a flying fuk what gays do.....as long as it does not affect others. That is the basis for every law in this country. You can do whatever you want as long as it does not interfere with the rights of others as defined in our constitution.

I don't care if gays have a federally recognized coupling that allows them tax benefits, etc. What I do care about is the government ruling that their rights are more important than mine. Which is exactly what is happening. Marriage is mine as a Christian. It is not the governments to define.

Marriage is not yours as a Christian. That is an ignorant, uneducated stament. Marriage existed long before Christ. By your way of thought, Jews, Muslims, Hindus or or non believers couldn't marry.

Bullshit. I said it was defined by God. Heck, he defined it when he made a man with a dick. He also defined it in the old testament, where those jews and muslims spring from. But I'll go with your thoughts. In the jewish, muslim, etc religions. Marriage is between a man and a woman. Why the hell would a queer have the right to trample on all these different religions then?

You know our country is gone when you have this many people on a ALABAMA hunting site that supports gay marriage. If you would have told me 20 years ago that it would be legal I would have laughed and said you are crazy. Where will it be 20 years from now? Will three people be able to marry? Incest marriage? Who are you to judge? Who determines what is acceptable?

How are you "warning" society about gays? I'm pretty sure it has been around for awhile.

Burbank, adultery is still a sin but the way it is punished has changed. Are you saying God's calling homosexuality a sin and warning society against it is outdated and that God has changed his mind?

I'm not warning, God has already done that.

Romans 1:27 , 28

and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.

I agree that people, Christians too, can be very selective in what we acknowledge as wrong. Some like to drink but gloss over it to point out someone else's sin. That's why God tells us to do all things out of love. If we first love others then we will be quick to help and slow to condemn.

Well I always thought it was a lawyers profession to argue. Matlock gonna get the last word. Right or wrong. Just throwing that out there. And for the record. I don't like fags. I also don't like sorry POS black folk or POS white trash. They still let them marry. So I don't care what they do. That's all I. Saying on that matter. Carry on.

I have a friend that worked with Moore at one time and has told me things that absolutely confirm the belief that the man is an attention whore. I have no respect for the man and would never vote for him for anything.

I often find myself agreeing with his position on issues, but not often for the same reasons.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I want to be very clear that I'm not condoning homosexuality. I'm saying it's not my place to judge. It's interesting that you chose the verse you did. Continue reading Romans. If you read the rest of that chapter and on into the next chapter, you will see that Paul's entire message is that only God can judge people's sin. Our place is to love others and show them Gods goodness.

Us? You on a team now?

Abortion is murder and it is sinful. God calls homosexuality an abomination. Those are strong words. Homosexual marriage is an attack on the traditional family and our moral compass as a nation. Both are a symptom of a broken society that refuses the wisdom of God. I didn't call homosexual marriage murder. I said they were both things that show how our society is moving away from biblical principles.

I've read it all. We absolutely can judge sin, sin. We cannot judge salvation. Understanding that God gives us discernment to know good for from bad and right from wrong is paramount to realizing what God expects from us. We can't pick and choose verses without knowing the full context they were written in. If we are a member of a church and we have a brother or sister that is caught up in on going sin, how does God instruct us to handle it? We know what sin is because God has written His laws in our heart. We can call sin , sin and still share the Gospel in love. It's up to us to love others, share the Gospel with them which includes telling them how their sin separates them from God, and then it is up to God to save them. Whatever the outcome we are still commanded to love.
