the marriage issue SHOULD be a state/local issue. but it's not, because of lawsuits making their way through the courts have landed in federal hands, yielding the decision that lead to this thread, and others across the country. maybe those who are opposed should put together a million heterosexual married couple march on washington, d.c., to make a point that will sway federal judgeship appointments in future generations. maybe such a march would press congress towards a constitutional amendment. maybe, the country has NOT lost its blessing. but i do not think so, and it saddens me ...
