Give me a break, this issue is not about a word, it is about protection committed gay life partners, lover, husbands and husband or how ever else you want to put it. so that they can get the same benefits and protections as heterosexual married couples.
So, what's your argument against polygamy, incest, or bestiality? And why isn't everyone fighting tirelessly for these causes, because they have followers and they are all in loving relationships. There is no argument that can support gay marriage and not suppport the others listed above. It's just love, pure and simple, right? And love is all that matters, right?

I happen to have met Judge Moore on several occasions and found him very likeable. Not sure when standing for what you believed to be right is grandstanding. Men marrying men is not natural, and opens door for several other deviant activities, what is next?

This is also a great lesson on gun control. Never, ever give an inch. It just leads to more.

This is a LEGAL matter, not a moral matter. In a legal sense, Moore is wrong. I imagine he will back down soon. More than likely he does not want to lose his bully pulpit over this issue until his term is almost over and he is running for something else. He is a professional candidate, like Don Siegelman was.

Gay marriage should be decided by a popular vote in the state. We voted it down and a judge has ruled that we have to allow it. Roy is another judge that says we shouldn't. So are you guys saying that one judge can tell us what to do but Roy Moore can't stand against what the other judge did? Where is the justice in that? Yeah hell the state of California voted it down!

So if theft, suddenly became legal it would be ok and no one should stand against it?

That's what makes a good judge, in your opinion?
My opinion is it has nothing to do with benefits and everything to do with further separating society from Christian ideals. If it wasn't they would be happy with civil unions or partnerships and you wouldn't have some private businesses forced to cater to them against their beliefs. It's agenda driven the same way racism is , these days. They want forced embracing of their lifestyle not just acceptance.

Neither the Constitution nor the Bible stand for anything in this county anymore... Both are being trampled on and thrown out the window.... Laws are now made to help certain groups of people and hurt others rather than stop people.... This country is phucked and it will never recover....

Didn't do any good, though. Unfortunately, this issue has become a court/civil rights matter. That is where it will remain, even if the USSC becomes solidly conservative over the next two or three presidential terms. This is a federal republic with three government branches. The judiciary is one of them, as determined by the founding fathers.

It is up to us to stand against it. Judges should follow the laws they have sworn to uphold ...

Right now we stand under one branch(regardless what federal republic says)... That's the executive branch....and what it says....goes.... I believe that's been proven over the past six years....

I honestly don't have an issue with consensual polygamy. Why do you? I am not talking about child molesters like Warren Jeffs and those guys. But, consenting adults, I have no issue with. Believe it or not, adult consensual incest is legal in a lot of states. I don't support it. But, again, it is it between adults and hey are consenting, how does that harm your life? I am not going to even respond to your ignorant bestiality question. I have seen you throw that out before and you know fucking well it is not the same. I am a student of the law, and I know what the law says about this. It is not any different than the prior bans on interracial marriage. Funny, your arguments are the same ones used then. It was also claimed to be biblical based. We are all guarantied equal protection under the law.

That is all it is if two heterosexuals go to the courthouse and get a judge to marry them. But, they call it marriage too. What about common law marriage, that is legal for heterosexuals. Again, what this opinion did was force the state to issue licenses for civil unions, the word marriage is used because it is the common vernacular. A private business or church can not be forced to perform a gay marriage. But, they can be forced to provide the same benefits to gays and they do to others.

I know how I feel about queers getting married, I'm against it big time, but don't know much about all the legal hoopla, other than hearsay on talk radio. Someone correct me if I am wrong but they are saying that the Federal Courts had already refused to define marriage in the past saying it was a state issue. Now that the states have defined it, the Fed wants to get involved and try to say it is now their business. Thats the short version of a 3-4 hour show. Doekiller, is that pretty much how it has happened or is that just typical media screwing up the facts?

I think all of the above scenarios are like that. Of course they're not all the same, but there's no good argument against them using the love argument. I think in 50 years we'll see it. The bottom line is that the government has no business in the marriage business to begin with.

A private business or church can not be forced to perform a gay marriage. But, they can be forced to provide the same benefits to gays and they do to others. Let me ask you this. Where did the concept of marriage come from? Is it not in essence biblical in its origin? Does the definition of marriage biblically defined specify that it is between a man and a woman? Was marriage not originally a Christian process that was later sanctioned by governments around the world? My point is this. Marriage from its root is a Christian practice that the federal government chose to observe. I don't really give a flying fuk what gays do.....as long as it does not affect others. That is the basis for every law in this country. You can do whatever you want as long as it does not interfere with the rights of others as defined in our constitution. I don't care if gays have a federally recognized coupling that allows them tax benefits, etc. What I do care about is the government ruling that their rights are more important than mine. Which is exactly what is happening. Marriage is mine as a Christian. It is not the governments to define.
